   Depends on what type of music you’ll be playing. If you want to play rock, folk, alternative, or country, you’d want a steel-string folk acoustic guitar. If you want to play Spanish flamenco style, classical, or jazz, get a nylon string classical acoustic guitar. Neither one sounds “better.” It’s just a matter of personal preference and style.
