What grade stainless steel is used for stainless steel guitar strings?
Written by admin on October 15, 2008 – 8:08 pm -I am doing a research project of science and I have to know the density of stainless steel on a guitar string of stainless steel. For these to discover information that I need to know the degree of stainless steel is used. I understand that there are about 150 degrees different. Rend contoere that the density isn 'string guitar t necessarily the same of steel' s density, as the tie of the center is a different material and that there is not a ratio of 1:1 at the centre 'steel and that there is possibly some air (the air should not really interest anyway), but I enter into that later…

Yes, but most of them are very close to 8.0 density. How close do you need to be?
There is also the problem that “Each wrap is precisely wound onto a hex core using our exclusive computer-controlled machines, which monitor wrap speed and tension. The result is strings with precise intonation and unparalleled consistency, set after set. ” so if there is any air space, the density of the guitar wire is lower than the density of the steel.
