Steel or Nylon guitar?

Approval, so I 'm obsessed with learning how to play guitar (acoustic preffer I)… I 'm a teenager who wants to play the rock / pop / folk music… I want to learn first as strum finally… then how to select… so what kind of string is better? nylon or steel?
