What’s on an acoustic guitar’s steel strings?

Today I received my first acoustic guitar (Washburn) and I did a bit of strumming and I noticed that my fingertips were dark (removed). Is that normal? lol

    yeah. the strings are thicker. i get that alot on the strings. it is because they are made of bronze.

    yea, they rubbed off on you. yea its normal. of they were bronze coated yea it happens to me al the time.

    My strings were silver in colour its normal.
    My strings were silver in colour but as time pass by it became goldy in colour its normal.

    yea its normal lol
    new strings do that sometimes
