If you are only starting to play, nylon is better, because, when you first start, lotsa practice is in order and steel hurts your fingers, but when you get into it,then steel is better.Much more clear, loud and vivid sound

DEPENDS ON WHAT YOUR PLAYING.IF YOUR PLAYING SOME CLASSICAL OR FLAMENCO THEN NYLON STRINGS. ANYTHING ELSE WOULD BE STEEL. IT ALSO DEPENDS ON WHAT KIND OF GUITAR. IF YOU HAVE A CLASSICAL GUITAR YOU SHOULD ALWAYS PUT NYLON STRINGS ON IT. WITH STEEL IT HAS TO MUCH TENSION AND COULD BOW THE NECK.
