beginner acoustic guitar - nylon vs. steel? brand?

I 'm 14 and the 'M. about to start playing guitar. I was looking for sound to $ 100-150 the 'M. not sure if I get a steel string or nylon. i 'll be on is playing some soft songs but some optimistic, but the main element is that the' the m. fairly small and I need something good measure me. (i 'll the can get my hands around) even if you know any good brands or packages for a beginner it would be great — Thanks
