Although there are only two main categories of guitar, within each category there is a wide range if styles, different models and varieties to make sure that there is a guitar and a sound for each style of performance and opportunity. The two main categories are, of course, acoustic and electric, but how to define an acoustic guitar or electric is very sweet and does not tell us anything about the real kind, the sound it produces, or the relative ease of delivery.
