Been playing guitar-steel string acoustic 5 years & I am stuck at the playing level of a good beginner. help?

I still don' t be deemed as something beyond a good beginner… that I took only 2 lessons. has learned just a few trivelli speed, scale of the blue, lengthening exercises and songs that I asked the couple to learn… which is where he introduced the strings of the bar and presented it to strumming patterns, the pace, counting, … etc. 5 years later, I still haven 't become competent in strumming the guitar… even the simplest models are difficult for me… can only strum something when I can hear that in my head without music. . like I can do a "couples; difficult" strumming songs simply because they 'the VE been my fav songs, virtually forever.
